Solutions
InfraTrac uses infrared spectroscopy to distinguish counterfeits. We prepare your sample (powder, pill, or liquid), and test it in a machine that graphs its components’ responses to light. The lab version of the machine is the size of a breadbox, with a standard desktop computer as its interface. A handheld version is also available. Either version can be operated by a technician without any lab background.
Fast and decisive. In as little as 0.1 second, your sample is analyzed, and then compared to a database of stored information. If it does not match a known batch, it isn’t legitimate. It’s a counterfeit.
Accurate and easy to use. InfraTrac’s results are highly precise, and can distinguish brands, dates of manufacture, batches, improper handling, and adulterants. Tag your substance using InfraTrac’s patent-pending system, and you can track your materials accurately throughout the supply chain. Use a small change in the formulation of inactive ingredients as your taggant. It’s fast, inexpensive, and fits your current manufacturing process.
Hospital
Counterfeiting and errors threaten patient safety. There are 1.25 million adverse reactions and 7,000 patient deaths annually in the United States as a result of drug errors. How do you know your patients are getting the right drugs, the right doses, the real thing? InfraTrac offers verification solutions that work in the hospital environment. Our authentication solutions for hospitals recognize that conventional product integrity checking relies largely on tagging packaging. Of course, in a hospital setting, packaging and product are often separate. InfraTrac’s patent-pending solutions verify the product itself.
It’s difficult enough to keep tabs on pills and powders. But IV bags pose a special challenge. Once the bag is made up, how do you tell whether it contains the proper medication, at the right concentration, and that the drug is both current and genuine? If you sample it, you ruin it. If you don’t, you’re taking chances. InfraTrac’s solution uses spectroscopy to look into the bag, through the plastic, and tell you in an instant whether it’s right. The spectrometer shines a light on the substance and compares its optical components to a chemical library. If it’s right, you’re safe.
Infratrac in the Hospital Overview
Pharmaceuticals
InfraTrac uses covert near-infrared spectral fingerprints, embedded into each lot of a pharmaceutical formulation via FDA SUPAC level 1 composition changes – i.e., using allowable excipient changes, encode a unique fingerprint into each product lot:
- No external taggant needed
- Minimal regulatory burden
- In the EU, falls within the 10% allowable batch-to-batch variability for excipients
Counterfeit Parts
InfraTrac can tag paint, too, so you and your distributors can quickly determine which auto parts, for example, are yours and which are fakes. Your signature paint can mark genuine parts.
Hazardous Waste
Tag your chemicals so you know which emissions are yours and which are not, with rock-solid proof.
